La alcaldía Cuauhtémoc presentó las letras monumentales “Tepito” en esta demarcación, donde inmediatamente la gente se tomó selfies y hablo de lo que significa este singular lugar del comercio en la Ciudad de México.
Unas letras monumentales cuyo autor es el artista plástico mexicano David de León, como muchas otras que han sido colocadas en importantes ciudades y que hoy refuerza la identidad de quienes crecieron y se hicieron entre estas calles.
Para cada uno Tepito tiene un significado, sin embargo, en estas letras está plasmado parte del orgullo tepiteño con El Santo, Kid Azteca, Resortes, la iglesia de Santa Ana, el baile y el comercio.
Antes de develar estas letras, la alcaldesa Sandra Cuevas, quien fue acompañada por el artista, Eduardo Urbano Merino, destacó el espíritu de Tepito, que “hoy tiene arte y cultura”.
Apuntó, además, Tepito: significa el esfuerzo, el trabajo y la disciplina de muchísima gente, cómo de la mayor parte de la gente de México.
Un barrio del que han salido importantes artistas, deportistas, bailarines, músicos y políticos.
Por ello se hizo un llamado a reevaluar esta zona de la alcaldía Cuauhtémoc.
Ese es solo uno de los primeros pasos para darle el lugar que le corresponde a Tepito, que le ha dado tanto a la ciudad de México.
De acuerdo a lo señalado durante la develación con esta obra y las visitas culturales se refuerza el tema cultural como de pueblo mágico, aunque ahora en un barrio de esta alcaldía Cuauhtémoc que es tu casa.
